Pharmakon: Focusing on reducing food waste
Pharmakon Conference Center in Hillerød, Denmark was examined by the international Green Key inspectors who were introduced to the new focus the hotel kitchen had on reducing food waste.
At Pharmakon in Hillerød the guests can be sure that the hotel lives up to the environmental standards. The Conference Center has recently been inspected by international Green Key inspectors who were happy about their visit. Pharmakons sustainability journey started in 2009 and even though a lot has happened since then Pharmakon is still in the middle of several environmental efforts.
Around 80 % of their lights are energy saving LEDs, and the hotel has a new CTS system to better manage their use of energy, water and heating. The kitchen at the Conference Center is focused on reducing food waste, and for this reason the Head Chef of the kitchen, Peter Larsen, has sent two of his employees to a food coordinator course.
The kitchen is also part of the food waste campaign organized by HORESTA.
