Denmark has joined an international declaration enhancing sustainable transportation

The Birmingham declaration, that Denmark recently joined together with 11 other countries, aims at enhancing and developing sustainable transportation as well as improving the air quality in the cities.

On the 11th September Denmark, along with Great Britain, France, Australia and several other countries, signed the Birmingham declaration which acts on a political level with the goal to lower the carbon footprints of the transportation industry.  The transportation sector has one of the largest carbon impacts in the world which also comes with great responsibility.

The focus of the declaration is among other things to make a quicker conversion to green transportation, enhance a sustainable economy as well as to increase the air quality in the cities.Lars Chr. Lilleholt, Minister for Energy, Utilities and Climate,  expresses a positive attitude towards the Birmingham declaration and explains that with the declaration it is possible to impact the car industry even more in regards to moving towards more sustainable alternatives.

With the Birmingham declaration Denmark has again taken another step towards an environmentally friendly future and can proudly  call themselves front runners when it comes to offering citizens as well as visitors more  sustainable options.
